Fendt 1E.1.30 – Engine Control Unit (ECU) / EDC engine control: B004 - Vacuum switch (air filter) pressure loss above setpoint range

Excessive underpressure (vacuum) in the engine's air intake system, indicating that the engine air filter is severely contaminated, clogged, or restricted. This condition typically results in a noticeable loss of engine power.

   Open the right side of the bonnet and visually inspect the engine air filter main cartridge for heavy dirt, dust, or debris contamination.

   Inspect the air filter suction line for any leaks, blockages, or collapsed hoses that could cause a vacuum restriction.

   Locate the B004 vacuum switch on the air filter housing and inspect the wiring harness and connector (separation point X153) for cable breaks, short circuits, or corrosion.

   Access the Filter

   Open the right side of the tractor bonnet to access the air filter housing.

   Remove the Filter

   Extract the air filter main cartridge (outer element).

   Replace the Main Cartridge

   Install a new main air filter cartridge. OEM Service Note: The main cartridge must NOT be blown out with compressed air or cleaned. It must be replaced.

   Evaluate the Safety Cartridge

   If the main cartridge has been replaced three times previously, or if the main cartridge is found to be damaged, you must also replace the inner safety cartridge (secondary element).

   Check the Switch

   If replacing the filters does not resolve the fault, or if physical damage was found during diagnostics, replace the B004 vacuum switch.

   Clear the Fault

   Connect the SERDIA or FENDIAS diagnostic tool to the tractor and delete the error code from the EDC memory (associated internal failure codes: FC:000B, 00F2).
