1E.1.3A

Fendt 1E.1.3A – A051 - ECU, engine control unit (EDC 7): Engine Misfiring

Issue description

The engine control unit has detected that one or more cylinders are failing to ignite the air-fuel mixture properly, which typically results in restricted engine function, limited torque, or a general engine malfunction message.

Check the cause

  1. Connect the Fendt SERDIA diagnostic software to read specific misfire data (e.g., FC:002F) to identify the exact misfiring cylinder

  2. Check fuel supply pressure, looking for blocked fuel filters, a faulty fuel pump, or air ingress in the low-pressure suction piping

  3. Inspect the fuel injectors and the wiring harness connecting the A051 EDC 7 module to the injectors for shorts, open circuits, or poor contacts

  4. Check related engine sensors that influence timing and fuel delivery, such as the camshaft/crankshaft position sensors and the boost pressure sensor

Repair steps

  1. Connect Diagnostics

Plug the SERDIA diagnostic tool into the tractor's diagnostic port (X412) to communicate with the A051 EDC 7 module.

  2. Isolate the Misfire

Use the live data in SERDIA to pinpoint the misfiring cylinder(s).

  3. Resolve Fuel/Air Delivery Issues

Replace clogged fuel filters and bleed the fuel system to ensure no air is trapped in the lines.

  4. Repair/Replace Faulty Components

If the fuel supply is adequate, test the specific cylinder's fuel injector and its wiring. Repair any broken wires in the harness or replace the faulty injector.

  5. Clear the Fault

Fault codes in the A051 module must be deleted using the SERDIA diagnostic software. Standard dashboard clearing will not remove EDC 7 faults. Use SERDIA to execute the "delete error" command for 1E.1.3A.

  6. Test Run

Start the engine and perform a test drive to ensure the misfire is resolved and the code does not return.
