1E.1.75

Fendt 1E.1.75 – A051 - ECU, engine control unit (EDC 7): Start of injection period in cylinder 6 outside setpoint range or absent

Issue description

The engine control unit is detecting that the fuel injector for cylinder 6 is either not firing at the correct time, or the injection event is completely missing. This typically results in a cylinder switch-off (misfire) to protect the engine.

Check the cause

  1. Read out the fault memory using the Deutz SERDIA diagnostic program to confirm the presence of FC:001D.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness from the A051 Engine Control Unit to the cylinder 6 injector (Y101) for breaks or short circuits.

  3. Check the mechanical valve clearance for cylinder 6 (can be set when the crankshaft is turned so that cylinder 1 is at valve overlap).

  4. Perform a compression test on cylinder 6 using the SERDIA software or a manual compression pressure recorder to rule out mechanical failure before condemning the fuel system.

Repair steps

  1. Confirm the Fault

Use the SERDIA diagnostic tool to verify the 1E.1.75 (FC:001D) code is active.

  2. Access the Injectors

Remove the engine covering strip and unscrew the valve cover to access the fuel injectors.

  3. Test/Replace the Injector

If the wiring harness tests good, the cylinder 6 fuel injector (Y101) is likely defective. Remove the high-pressure delivery pipe and extract the injector.

  4. Install New Components

Install the new fuel injector along with new O-seals and sealing washers. Reinstall the delivery pipe.

  5. Reassembly

Reinstall the valve cover and engine covers.

  6. Calibration and Clearing

Connect the SERDIA diagnostic tool. Perform an automatic calibration of the injectors if required by the software, and delete the error code from the A051 ECU memory.

  7. Test Run

Start the tractor and verify that the misfire is resolved and the code does not return.
