Fendt 1E.1.7D – A051 - ECU, engine control unit (EDC 7): Short circuit or break in wiring to injector valve 2
Issue description
An electrical fault (either an open circuit or a short) in the circuit controlling the #2 cylinder fuel injector, which results in an injection failure for that cylinder.

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness running from the A051 Engine Control Unit (EDC 7) to injector valve 2 for chafed wires, melted insulation, or breaks.
Disconnect the plug at injector 2 and check for corrosion, bent pins, or moisture ingress.
Use a multimeter to test the wiring between the EDC 7 harness connector and the injector connector for continuity and ensure there is no short to ground or short to voltage.
Measure the internal resistance of injector 2 across its pins to determine if the solenoid/piezo stack has failed internally, causing the short/open circuit.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery before working on the engine control wiring or fuel system. Wait at least 30 seconds for the high-pressure fuel system to depressurize.
Repair Wiring
If the diagnostic checks revealed a broken or shorted wire, repair the wiring harness or replace the injector pigtail connector.
Replace Injector
If the wiring is intact but the injector failed the resistance test, remove the high-pressure fuel line and retaining clamp, and extract injector 2. Install a new injector with new seating washers and O-rings.
Reassemble
Reconnect the injector harness and the battery.
Clear Fault Codes
Connect the Fendt SERDIA diagnostic software to the tractor and manually delete the error code from the engine control unit memory.
Parts you might need
(3)Fuel Injector (Bosch Common Rail)
Bosch 0445120065 / Deutz 04290988 / Fendt F339202710060Common on Fendt Vario models with Deutz engines. Always verify the exact Bosch number stamped on the original injector before ordering.
Injector Seating Washer / O-Rings
Required if the injector is removed or replaced.
Injector Wiring Harness / Pigtail Connector
Required if the fault is isolated to a broken connector clip or chafed wire at the injector head.
