Check the cause

  1. Check the wiring harness and connectors leading to the Y094 actuator (located on the left side of the engine) for physical breaks, chafing (short to ground), or melted wires (short to battery).

  2. Inspect the mechanical linkage connecting the actuator to the exhaust flap to ensure it is not seized, disconnected, or binding.

  3. Connect the Deutz SERDIA diagnostic program and perform a function test to manually actuate the Y094 EGR actuator to see if it responds.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect power

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery power.

  2. Locate actuator

Locate the Y094 EGR actuator on the left side of the engine.

  3. Remove faulty actuator

Disconnect the electrical harness and unbolt the faulty actuator.

  4. Install new actuator

Install the new Y094 servomotor onto the mounting bracket.

  5. Attach mechanical linkage

CRITICAL STEP: You must attach the mechanical linkage to the Y094 EGR actuator before switching the ignition on.

  6. Calibrate actuator

Switch the ignition on. The A051 ECU will command the Y094 EGR actuator to travel to the end stops of the exhaust flap to calibrate its position. OEM Warning: If the linkage is NOT attached when the ignition is switched on, the actuator will run past its intended end stops during the calibration process, which will result in immediate, irreversible damage to the new component.

  7. Clear fault codes

Clear the fault codes (1E.1.90 / FC:0045-0048) using the SERDIA diagnostic tool.
