   Understand the Circuit: The B055 foot throttle sensor contains redundant potentiometers (or a potentiometer and an idle switch). One signal goes to the A050 (basic control unit) and the other goes to the A051 (EDC 7 engine control unit).

   Inspect the wiring harness and the electrical connector at the foot throttle pedal for corrosion, backed-out pins, or wire chafing. Trace the wiring back to the A051 EDC 7 module.

   Verify that the sensor is receiving its 5.0 VDC reference supply and has a solid ground.

   Use the FENDIAS or SERDIA diagnostic tool to monitor the live voltage output of the foot throttle. Slowly depress the pedal and watch for voltage dropouts, spikes, or dead spots in the potentiometer's travel.

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery ground.

   Locate the B055 foot throttle pedal assembly on the cab floor.

   Remove the protective cover over the pedal base (usually secured by a couple of screws).

   Disconnect the single electrical connector from the pedal.

   Remove the mounting bolts (typically 4 bolts) securing the foot throttle to the floor and remove the faulty pedal.

   Install the new foot throttle pedal and tighten the mounting bolts.

   Reconnect the electrical connector and reinstall the protective cover.

   Reconnect the battery.

   Calibrate the new foot throttle.

   This can usually be carried out by the operator through the tractor's terminal or via the SERDIA diagnostic software (Calibration code "4005" is often referenced for pedal/TMS limits).

    Connect the SERDIA diagnostic tool and clear the stored fault code (FC:005E).
