1E.1.D3

Fendt 1E.1.D3 – A051 - ECU, engine control unit (EDC 7): High current output injector A (High) / Faulty injector valve (chip)

Issue description

Hardware or electrical failure related to the high-current driver chip inside the engine control unit that operates the fuel injector valve for bank A (or a specific cylinder).

Check the cause

  1. Connect the Fendt SERDIA diagnostic software and attempt to delete the error (FC:009D).

  2. Inspect the wiring harness between the A051 ECU and the engine fuel injectors for a short-to-power (High) that could cause the driver chip to fault or protect itself.

  3. Verify if the code immediately returns upon clearing; if it cannot be deleted, the internal injector driver chip on the EDC 7 board is permanently damaged.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect power

Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical arcing before beginning any work on the ECU.

  2. Locate the A051 ECU

Locate the engine control unit. The location varies by model (e.g., on the 300 Vario series, it is located at the right entrance step and requires removing the battery case to access).

  3. Remove the faulty unit

Disconnect the main wiring harness connectors (such as separation point X1466) from the EDC 7 module and unbolt the unit from its mounting bracket.

  4. Install the replacement unit

Mount the new or remanufactured Bosch EDC 7 unit and securely reconnect the wiring harnesses.

  5. Perform EOL programming

Use the SERDIA diagnostic software to perform EOL (End of Line) programming. This flashes the correct engine parameters and tractor configuration to the ECU. Skipping this step will result in a mismatch code (e.g., 01.1.A1) and limited engine torque.
