Fendt 1E.1.D8 – A051 - Engine Control Unit (EDC 7): A051 - ECU, engine control unit (EDC 7). Incorrect voltage for internal 5 V reference source 2.

The 5V supply has been pulled out of its normal operating range, almost always due to a short circuit, a cable break, or an internal failure in one of these three sensors (B055, B077, B087) or their shared wiring harness.

   Isolate the short circuit by disconnecting the B055, B077, and B087 sensors one at a time while monitoring the 5V reference voltage or active fault codes using the SERDIA or FENDIAS diagnostic tool. If voltage normalizes when a sensor is unplugged, that sensor is internally shorted.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors for the B055, B077, and B087 sensors. Look for chafing, melted insulation, water ingress in the connectors, or a short to ground/power.

   Check the physical condition of the sensors at their locations: B055 (in the cab at the foot throttle pedal), B077 (at the front of the engine on the cooling fan magnetic clutch), and B087 (typically on the bottom of the fuel filter housing).

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery if repairing wiring to prevent further damage to the EDC 7 module.

   Locate the faulty component

   Locate the faulty component identified during the diagnostic isolation test (either the B055, B077, B087 sensor, or the wiring harness).

   Repair or Replace

   If a sensor is internally shorted, replace the sensor. If the wiring harness is damaged (e.g., rubbed through on the engine block or chassis), repair the broken/shorted wires and secure the harness in a protective loom to prevent recurrence.

   Reconnect all sensors

   Reconnect all sensors and restore battery power.

   Clear the Fault Code

   Connect the SERDIA or FENDIAS diagnostic tool to the tractor. Navigate to the engine control diagnostics and delete the stored error (Internal Deutz FC: 00DD).

   Test Run

   Start the tractor and verify that the 5V reference voltage remains stable and the fault code does not return.
