Fendt 3.1.01 – A004: Control console — Internal RAM, EEPROM faults

This fault indicates a critical internal memory failure or data corruption within the control console's ECU. When this code is logged, the system automatically switches off several functions to prevent erratic behavior, specifically disabling the keypad/button panel, digital and analogue inputs, and LED actuation.

   Verify that the side console keypad, LEDs, and analogue/digital inputs are unresponsive

   Attempt to overwrite the corrupted memory by carrying out compulsory programming (EOL programming) using the FENDIAS diagnostic tool

   Connect diagnostic tool

   Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic interface to the tractor.

   Reprogram A004 module

   Attempt a compulsory programming/re-flashing of the A004 Control Console to restore the EEPROM data.

   Verify fault status

   Cycle the key and check if fault code 3.1.01 returns.

   Determine if replacement is needed

   If the programming is unsuccessful (meaning the physical RAM/EEPROM chip has failed), the manual instructs to 'Fit new control console' / 'Replace control panel'.

   Disconnect battery

   Disconnect the battery.

   Remove paneling

   Remove the right-hand side paneling/armrest cover to access the A004 module.

   Disconnect harnesses

   Disconnect the CAN-bus and power harnesses (Connector X033, etc.) from the faulty console.

   Install new console

   Install the replacement A004 Control Console.

   Program new console

   Reconnect the FENDIAS tool and perform EOL (End of Line) programming and teach-in procedures to marry the new console to the tractor's Enhanced Control ECU (A002).
