Fendt 3.1.02 – A004 - Control Console: Internal RAM, EEPROM fault

Critical internal hardware memory failure where the module can no longer read or write to its internal memory chips correctly, causing the system to automatically switch off the keypad/button panel, digital and analogue inputs, and LED actuation.

   Verify the voltage supply to the A004 control console by checking fuses F040 and F041 on printed circuit board A013, as low voltage or spikes can trigger false memory errors.

   Check CAN Bus communication to ensure there are no accompanying bus failure codes (such as 0.0.13).

   Attempt an End-Of-Line (EOL) reprogramming or a compulsory programming reset to rule out a software glitch before condemning the hardware.

   Disconnect battery

   Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts.

   Remove faulty console

   Remove the trim and retaining screws securing the A004 side console to the cab armrest/side panel.

   Disconnect wiring

   Carefully disconnect the main wiring harness and CAN bus connectors from the bottom of the console.

   Install replacement console

   Install the replacement A004 control console.

   Reconnect battery

   Reconnect the battery.

   Program new console

   Perform EOL (End-Of-Line) programming via FENDIAS diagnostic software to pair the new console with the tractor's basic control unit and configure it for the specific tractor model's options.
