Check the cause

  1. Verify the voltage supply for the CAN-Bus on fuse board A013, specifically checking fuses F040 and F041.

  2. Inspect the CAN-Bus wiring between the EST Control Module (A002) and the Side Console (A004).

  3. Test connections at connector X031 (on A002) and connector X033 (on A004), specifically pins 26 and 27, for continuity and ensure there is no short circuit to earth.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect battery

Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical spikes.

  2. Locate console

Locate the A004 Control Console, which is typically housed in the cab on the right mudguard.

  3. Remove trim panels

Remove the necessary trim panels to access the console's mounting hardware and wiring harnesses.

  4. Disconnect harness

Disconnect the main harness (including connector X033) from the A004 unit.

  5. Replace console

Remove the faulty console and install the replacement unit.

  6. Reconnect wiring and power

Reconnect the wiring harnesses and restore battery power.

  7. Program console

Perform EOL (End of Line) programming/calibration via FENDIAS diagnostic software so the new console can properly handshake with the A002 EST Control Module on the CAN-bus.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • A004 Control Console / Side Console

Look up component A004 in the Fendt EPC using the machine's exact VIN/Chassis number. Do not swap consoles between different series without verifying part number supersessions.
