Fendt 3.1.06 – A004 Control Console: A004 - Control console — External 8.5 V fault

The control console is not receiving its required 8.5-volt external power supply, or there is an internal failure within the console preventing the 8.5V circuit from operating. As a protective measure, the system automatically switches off the keypad / button panel, digital and analogue inputs, and LED actuation.

   Check fuses on the A013 fuse board, specifically the 8.5 V supply fuses (often listed as Fuse 5 or Fuse 9) and the CAN-Bus voltage supply fuses (F040, F041).

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the A013 fuse board and the A004 Control Console for any shorts to ground, corrosion, or open circuits.

   Measure the voltage at the A004 console connector pins to confirm if the 8.5V supply is missing (indicating a wiring/fuse issue) or if the voltage is present but the console is failing to process it (indicating an internal console failure).

   Power down and disconnect battery

   Power down the tractor and disconnect the battery.

   Remove interior trim panels

   Remove the interior trim panels on the right-hand mudguard/armrest inside the cab to access the A004 Control Console.

   Disconnect electrical harnesses

   Carefully disconnect the electrical harness connectors (e.g., Connector X033) from the A004 Control Console.

   Remove faulty console

   Unbolt and remove the faulty A004 Control Console.

   Install replacement console

   Install the replacement control console and secure the mounting hardware.

   Reconnect harnesses and reinstall panels

   Reconnect the electrical harnesses and reinstall the cab trim panels.

7. 7

   Reconnect battery and calibrate

   Reconnect the battery. Note: Depending on the tractor model and generation, the new console may require EOL (End of Line) programming or calibration via the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to pair it with the tractor's enhanced control ECU (A002).
