4.1.06

Fendt 4.1.06 – A050 - Basic control unit ECU (EXT) / A051 - Engine control unit (EDC 7 / EMR): B055 - Sensor, foot throttle

Issue description

Signal fault from the foot throttle combi-sensor indicating the signal is too high, too low, or there has been no signal for longer than 2000 milliseconds. The Tractor Management System (TMS) is switched off, and the machine is forced into a restricted operating mode (emergency mode).

Applies to these machines

  • 411 Vario COM III
  • 412 Vario COM III
  • 413 Vario COM III
  • 414 Vario COM III
  • 415 Vario COM III
  • 712 Vario COM III
  • 714 Vario COM III
  • 716 Vario COM III
  • 718 Vario COM III
  • 818 Vario COM III
  • 820 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 300 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 400 Vario (Farmer 409, 410, 411, 412)
  • Fendt 700 Vario (Favorit 711, 712, 714, 716)
  • Fendt 800 Vario (815, 817, 818)
  • Fendt 900 Vario (Favorit 916, 920, 924, 926, 930, and S4 models)

Check the cause

  1. Check sensor power supply (8.5V or 12V) via the A013 PCB microfuses (fuse 4, 14, or 19 depending on model)

  2. Inspect the wiring harness and connections between the B055 sensor and the A050/A051 ECUs for breaks, shorts, or loose pins (especially PIN 3 to PIN 6)

  3. Monitor live data diagnostics using SERDIA or FENDIAS to check for voltage mismatches between the two redundant potentiometers

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on the electrical system.

  2. Access the Sensor

Locate the B055 foot throttle sensor. Depending on the cab layout, this may require removing the control console or the lower steering column unit panel to access the pedal assembly.

  3. Resolve Wiring/Fuse Issues

If diagnostic checks revealed a blown fuse on the A013 board or a damaged wire in the EDC/Transmission control circuit, replace the fuse or repair the wiring harness.

  4. Replace the Sensor

If the wiring and power supply are intact but the sensor fails to provide a plausible signal, unbolt the faulty B055 combi-sensor from the pedal shaft and install the replacement part.

  5. Calibrate the New Sensor

A new foot throttle sensor must be calibrated to the ECUs. Use the tractor's diagnostic system to perform the calibration procedure (often referenced as calibration code '4005').

  6. Clear Codes and Test

Clear the stored fault codes (e.g., FC:000C, 000E, 000F) using SERDIA/FENDIAS. Restart the tractor and verify that the TMS functions correctly and the machine has exited restricted operating mode.
