4.1.26

Fendt 4.1.26 – JOYSTICK (A034): Joystick signal "accelerator pedal mode" faulty

Issue description

The system detects that the drive switch signal for the throttle/accelerator pedal mode is faulty, implausible, or physically stuck. Throttle pedal mode becomes inoperable, and the tractor will have no functions in accelerator pedal operation. The tractor may default to an emergency operation mode.

Check the cause

  1. Connect the Fendt service diagnostics program (FENDIAS / SERDIA) and check the A034 drive switch inputs. Go to "Diagnostics Menu 1" to view the target value for the transmission ratio from the A034 joystick.

  2. Inspect the joystick for physically stuck buttons, specifically the sliding switch/accelerator release potentiometer.

  3. Check the power supply for the CAN bus on circuit board A013. Specifically, inspect fuse F047 (Joystick CAN bus power) and fuses F040/F041.

  4. Inspect the wiring harness and CAN connection between the A002 ECU (enhanced control) and the A034 Drive switch for chafing or loose pins.

Repair steps

  1. Clear Debris

If the accelerator sliding switch is physically jammed by dirt or debris, clean the joystick assembly carefully with contact cleaner and compressed air.

  2. Test Switch Continuity

If the switch remains unresponsive but the CAN bus has power, the internal microswitches or the potentiometer inside the A034 joystick have likely failed.

  3. Repair or Replace

The Fendt Vario joystick can often be sent to agricultural electronics specialists for internal switch replacement. If downtime is critical, replace the entire A034 joystick assembly.

  4. EOL Programming / Calibration

If the A034 joystick is replaced, you must run a new EOL (End of Line) programming sequence using FENDIAS.

  5. Sensor Calibration

Calibrate the new potentiometer "Accelerator resolution" (Sliding switch on the A034 joystick) using Calibration Code 4010.
