Fendt 4.1.2F – Transmission Control Unit: Signal failure for the Joystick Backward 'v+ transmission control'

The system is not receiving the correct electrical signal when the operator pulls the driving lever (joystick) to the rear to control the transmission speed or direction.

   Verify the tractor's operating state (ECU will restrict the machine to 'Only Auxiliary Operation' mode when active)

   Consult the 'Transmission Control' electrical diagram

   Test signal continuity and voltage from the joystick's backward (v-) position switch to the transmission control unit to rule out a broken wire or damaged harness in the cab console

   Disconnect battery

   Disconnect the tractor's battery power.

   Disassemble joystick

   Disassemble the joystick handle to access the internal control unit switches.

   Remove faulty button

   Carefully remove the faulty button mechanism. Use a small chisel or similar tool to break the factory plastic welds, as the original buttons are often melted/fused into the lower part of the joystick.

   Install replacement button

   Install the replacement button/switch into the joystick housing.

   Reassemble and test

   Reassemble the joystick handle, reconnect the battery, clear the fault codes, and test the backward (v-) transmission control function.
