   Using a multimeter, trace the wiring from the Transmission ECU to the Y002 valve to check for continuity and ensure there is no short to ground or battery

   Measure the resistance of the Y002 solenoid coil (a healthy valve typically reads around 7 Ohms; an infinite reading indicates an open internal coil)

   Swap the Y002 (Range 1) and Y003 (Range 2) solenoid valves or their electrical connectors. If the fault code changes to 4.1.62 (Y003), the solenoid valve is definitively the failed component

   Preparation

   Park the tractor on a level surface, lower all hydraulic implements to the ground, apply the parking brake, and disconnect the battery to prevent accidental short circuits.

   Locate the Valve

   Locate the transmission control valve block on the Vario transmission. Identify the Y002 solenoid valve (refer to the specific tractor's hydraulic/electrical schematic, as it sits alongside Y003, Y004, etc.).

   Clean the Area

   Thoroughly clean the area around the solenoid valve to prevent any dirt or debris from entering the sensitive transmission hydraulic circuit when the valve is removed.

   Removal

   Disconnect the electrical harness connector from the Y002 valve. Unbolt the retaining fasteners and carefully pull the solenoid valve out of the manifold block.

   Installation

   Lubricate the O-rings on the new OEM solenoid valve with clean transmission oil. Insert the new valve into the block and tighten the fasteners to the torque specification listed in your specific model's workshop manual.

   Reconnection

   Reconnect the electrical harness to the new valve.

   Calibration and Clearing

   Reconnect the battery. Use the FENDIAS diagnostic software or the tractor's onboard terminal to clear the stored 4.1.61 fault code. Start the tractor and test the range shifting (Range 1 to Range 2) to ensure normal operation has been restored.
