Fendt 4.1.64 – A050 - Basic control ECU: PWM actuation fault / PWM-Supply failure for Y004 - Turboclutch solenoid valve

The system has detected an illogical power consumption, an open circuit, or a short circuit in the PWM signal circuit that controls the Y004 proportional valve. The turboclutch valve cannot be actuated electronically, forcing the transmission into an auxiliary/emergency operation mode. The tractor must not be driven normally.

   Check Fuse F56 (a blown F56 fuse will cause a faulty actuation code for the Y004 valve)

   Inspect the wiring harness between the A050 Basic control ECU and the Y004 solenoid valve on the transmission block for chafed wires, corrosion at the connector, or an open circuit

   Test the Y004 solenoid valve's resistance to check for an internal short circuit (the ECU monitors power consumption and will trigger a plausibility error if shorted)

   Verify the mechanical linkage and clutch from the actuator unit (if the turboclutch function is on and the clutch pedal is depressed)

   Emergency Override (If Stranded)

   If the tractor is immobilized in the field, locate the Y004 PWM valve on the transmission control block and turn the manual override screw to temporarily bypass the electronic control and allow the tractor to move.

   Preparation

   Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes during component replacement.

   Removal

   Locate the Y004 Turboclutch solenoid valve on the transmission valve block. Disconnect the electrical connector, remove the retaining bolts/hardware, and carefully extract the faulty valve from the block.

   Installation

   Lubricate the O-rings on the new solenoid valve with clean transmission fluid. Insert the new valve into the block and torque the retaining hardware to OEM specifications.

   Reconnection

   Reconnect the electrical harness to the valve. Replace fuse F56 if it was found to be blown during diagnostics.

   Calibration

   Reconnect the battery. Use the Fendt Variotronic terminal or FENDIAS diagnostic tool to clear the stored 4.1.64 fault code. Perform a transmission/clutch calibration procedure to ensure the A050 ECU learns the new proportional valve's characteristics.
