Fendt 4.1.75 – Transmission Control module: Signal fault - S045 Reverse operation sensor solenoid switch

The Transmission Control module is receiving an implausible, out-of-range, or missing signal from the S045 Reverse operation sensor solenoid switch, which recognizes the position of the operator platform.

   Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to monitor the live state of the S045 switch to see if the signal changes when the operator platform is physically reversed.

   Locate separation point/connector X213, which is the primary harness connection for the S045 switch. Inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture, or pushed-out terminals.

   Using the Transmission Control electrical circuit diagram, check for continuity, shorts to ground, or open circuits between the S045 switch (connector X213) and the Transmission Control module.

   Ensure that the mechanical linkage or bracketry that physically actuates the S045 switch when the driver stand is rotated is not bent, jammed, or obstructed by debris.

   Locate the Switch

   Depending on the specific cab configuration, the S045 switch is typically located either under the driver's seat bracket (requiring the removal of the driver's seat for access) or in the cab below the rear window.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

   Access the Component

   Remove the floor mat, seat, or rear trim panels as necessary to gain clear access to the S045 switch and its wiring harness.

   Disconnect the Harness

   Unplug the switch at separation point X213.

   Remove the Switch

   Unbolt the faulty S045 switch from its mounting bracket.

   Install the New Switch

   Mount the replacement switch, ensuring it is properly aligned with the mechanical actuator of the reversing stand.

   Reconnect and Reassemble

   Plug in connector X213, reconnect the battery, and reinstall any removed cab interior components (seat, mats, panels).

   Clear Codes and Test

   Use FENDIAS to clear the 4.1.75 fault code. Rotate the driver stand between forward and reverse positions to verify that the ECU recognizes the change without throwing a new signal fault.
