4.1.76

Fendt 4.1.76 – Transmission Control Module (TRANSMISSION / EST Module): Signal fault from component S047 (Engine brake plunger-operated switch)

Issue description

The control unit is detecting a break in the wiring, a short circuit, or a mechanical failure of the engine brake plunger-operated switch (S047). As a direct safety and operational consequence, the tractor's TMS (Tractor Management System) is automatically switched off.

Check the cause

  1. Locate the engine brake foot switch (S047) on the cab floor.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness and connector X140 for cable breaks, chafing against the cab floor, or short circuits.

  3. Test the switch for proper continuity using a multimeter while depressing and releasing the plunger.

  4. Connect FENDIAS or SERDIA diagnostic software to read the live state of the switch and check for internal fault code FC:0034.

Repair steps

  1. Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.
