Fendt 4.1.76 – Transmission Control Module (TRANSMISSION / EST Module): Signal fault from component S047 (Engine brake plunger-operated switch)

The control unit is detecting a break in the wiring, a short circuit, or a mechanical failure of the engine brake plunger-operated switch (S047). As a direct safety and operational consequence, the tractor's TMS (Tractor Management System) is automatically switched off.

   Locate the engine brake foot switch (S047) on the cab floor.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connector X140 for cable breaks, chafing against the cab floor, or short circuits.

   Test the switch for proper continuity using a multimeter while depressing and releasing the plunger.

   Connect FENDIAS or SERDIA diagnostic software to read the live state of the switch and check for internal fault code FC:0034.

   Access the cab floor area where the engine brake foot switch (S047) is mounted.

   Disconnect the electrical connector (X140) from the switch.

   Unbolt the mounting hardware securing the switch assembly to the floor plate.

   Install the replacement engine brake plunger switch and secure it with the mounting hardware.

   Connect the SERDIA or FENDIAS diagnostic tool and delete the stored error (FC:0034) from the Transmission control module.
