Fendt 4.1.7F – EDC (Electronic Diesel Control) / EMR Control Module: A003, A034 - Memory key MIN/MAX setpoint engine speed EDC/EMR — Signal fault

The system is receiving an out-of-range signal (either too high or too low) from the memory keys used to set the MIN/MAX engine speed on the joystick. When this failure is identified, the requested speed is compared to the EST Pedal Position Sensor (B029). The memory key values are deactivated, and operation defaults to the accelerator pedal. Terminal settings and hand throttle functions are also disabled as a safety consequence.

   Check Voltage Supply: Measure the voltage between the Joystick (Component A003), Pin 30 on Connector X032_P, and earth. The requested value should be between 8.0 V and 8.5 V.

   Check Current/Signal: Check the current between Joystick A003, Pin 31 on Connector X032_P, and earth.

   Inspect Wiring: Check wire WF1741 for any disruptions, breaks, or short circuits.

   Check CAN Bus Connections: Verify the connection from the EST Control Module (A002) to the Side Console (A004). Specifically, check Pin 26 on Connector X031 to Pin 26 on Connector X033, and Pin 27 to Pin 27.

   Check Fuses: Inspect fuse board A004 (Side Console) and fuse board A013 for any blown fuses causing a voltage supply failure.

   Resolve Power Issues

   If any fuses on board A004 or A013 are blown, replace them. If the fuse board for the side console is internally damaged, replace the board.

   Repair Wiring

   If wire WF1741 or the CAN Bus lines between the EST module and the side console show high resistance or shorts, repair or replace the damaged wiring harness section.

   Replace Joystick/Memory Key

   If the voltage supply is correct (8-8.5V) and the wiring is intact, but the signal remains out of range, the internal memory key switch inside the joystick has failed. Replace the joystick assembly (A034/A003).

   Replace EST Control Module

   If the joystick and wiring test perfectly, the fault may lie within the EST Control Module (A002) failing to process the signal, requiring module replacement.

   Reprogramming

   If the joystick (A034) or EST Control Module (A002) is replaced, you must run a new EOL (End of Line) programming/calibration using FENDIAS.
