4.1.B6

Fendt 4.1.B6 – Tractor Management System (TMS) / Enhanced Control ECU (A002): Equipment 'Neumaier reverse drive facility' — Neumaier reverse drive facility has failed or is faulty.

Issue description

The Neumaier reverse drive facility control system has failed, lost communication, or is reporting an internal fault. As a consequence, the Tractor Management System (TMS) switches off the speed specification, and the tractor may be restricted to emergency mode.

Check the cause

  1. Observe the Neumaier display unit for specific sub-faults handed over by the TMS.

  2. Check fuses on circuit board A013 (specifically F039, F040, F041, F046, and F047) for the Neumaier ECU and CAN bus power supply.

  3. Inspect wiring separation points on the right mudguard (X1332 for power, X1333 for ground, X1334 for direction detection, X1335 for speed) for corrosion or broken wires.

  4. Verify the 8.5V supply to the reverse drive clutch pedal potentiometer and check if calibration code 4011 can be successfully completed.

Repair steps

  1. Resolve Power/CAN Issues

If any fuses on circuit board A013 are blown, replace them. If wiring at separation points X1332–X1335 is damaged, repair the harness to restore CAN bus communication between the A002 ECU and the Neumaier ECU.

  2. Address Potentiometer Faults

If the clutch pedal potentiometer for the reverse drive is faulty, replace the sensor and perform an End-Of-Line (EOL) reprogramming / calibration using Fendt calibration code '4011'.

  3. Replace Neumaier ECU

If power, ground, and CAN lines are intact but the Neumaier system remains unresponsive or internally faulted, the Neumaier ECU itself must be replaced.

  4. Clear Codes

Use the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to clear the 4.1.B6 code from the A002 Enhanced Control ECU memory.

  5. Test Drive

Perform a test drive in both standard and reverse drive modes to ensure the TMS speed specification is functioning correctly and no emergency mode is triggered.

Parts you might need

(4)
  • Neumaier ECU / Control Module

OEM part numbers vary heavily based on the specific aftermarket/dealer-installed RÜFA kit and tractor chassis. Source directly through a Fendt dealer or Neumaier.

  • Reverse Drive Clutch Pedal Potentiometer

Required if the sensor fails calibration.

  • Standard Automotive Fuses

For circuit board A013 (typically 10A/15A depending on the slot).

  • Wiring Harness Connectors

    For repairing separation points X1332, X1333, X1334, X1335.
