4.1.E0

Fendt 4.1.E0 – TRANSMISSION ECU: Y004 - Solenoid valve, turbo-clutch: Wrong characteristic stored

Issue description

The transmission control unit has detected that the operational parameters or calibration values for the turbo-clutch solenoid valve are missing, illogical, or have drifted outside of acceptable tolerances.

Applies to these machines

  • 411 Vario COM III
  • 412 Vario COM III
  • 413 Vario COM III
  • 414 Vario COM III
  • 415 Vario COM III
  • 712 Vario COM III
  • 714 Vario COM III
  • 716 Vario COM III
  • 718 Vario COM III
  • 818 Vario COM III
  • 820 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 400 Vario (including Farmer 400)
  • Fendt 500 Vario (e.g., S4 generation)
  • Fendt 700 Vario (including Favorit 700 and COM III / SCR generations)
  • Fendt 800 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 900 Vario (including Favorit 900, COM III, SCR, and S4 generations)

Check the cause

  1. Check transmission fluid temperature (must be > 40°C for calibration)

  2. Verify transmission emergency operation is NOT switched on (calibration cannot be performed in emergency mode)

  3. Check for ECU memory errors (internal RAM/EEPROM faults may require End-of-Line reprogramming before calibration)

Repair steps

  1. Warm up the tractor

Ensure the transmission oil temperature is above 40°C.

  2. Access the Calibration Menu

Using the tractor's terminal, navigate to the transmission calibration settings.

  3. Perform the Calibration Block

Execute Calibration Code 4009 (Calibration, turbo-clutch function). According to Fendt service documentation, transmission calibrations (codes 4001 through 4010) must be performed in sequence and as a block. You cannot simply run 4009 in isolation.

  4. Monitor for Calibration Errors

If the calibration completes successfully, 'OK' will be displayed, the new sensor settings will be stored, and the fault will clear. If the calibration fails, the terminal will throw a sub-fault (e.g., F02: Calibration in emergency mode not possible or F03: Internal error in the A050 ECU / Error while saving calibrated values).

  5. Replace the Valve (if calibration fails)

If the calibration repeatedly fails or the values drift immediately after calibration, the Y004 solenoid valve is mechanically or electrically defective and must be replaced. After replacement, the 4001–4010 calibration block must be performed again.
