4.1.E1

Fendt 4.1.E1 – A002 - ECU, enhanced control (Comfort ECU / E-Box): Pressure regulator control parameters in tractive power control (ML transmission adjustment) not plausible or read incorrectly

Issue description

Indicates a parameter or read error within the tractive power control system.

  • 800 Vario series
  • 900 Vario series (e.g., COM II and COM III generations)

Check the cause

  1. Check Basic Signal Voltage: Verify the basic signal voltage supplied by the A002 E-Box. The A002 Comfort ECU should output a basic signal voltage (U1) of approximately 8.0 V. Measure the signal voltage at the corresponding pins (Pin 2 and Pin 1).

  2. Check CAN Bus Communication: Ensure there are no underlying CAN bus communication faults restricting data to the E-Box.

  3. Verify EEPROM Integrity: Check if the tractor is operating in a restricted emergency mode, which is common when the E-Box cannot read the transmission adjustment parameters.

Repair steps

  1. Connect Diagnostic Tool

Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic system or Fendt-EST to the tractor's diagnostic port.

  2. Perform EOL Programming

Run a new EOL (End-Of-Line) programming to rewrite and recalibrate the pressure regulator control parameters for the ML transmission adjustment.

  3. Test and Calibrate

After EOL programming, clear the fault codes and test the tractive power control functions to ensure the parameters are now reading as plausible.

  4. E-Box Repair/Replacement (If EOL Fails)

If the E-Box fails to accept the EOL programming (e.g., due to a permanent EEPROM hardware failure), the A002 E-Box must be removed and either sent to an agricultural electronics specialist for board-level repair or replaced entirely.
