Fendt 4.1.E3 – A002 - ECU, enhanced control: Checksum error parameter for accelerator pedal mode

The calibration data or parameters stored in the control module for the foot accelerator pedal have become corrupted, resulting in a checksum mismatch. When this code is triggered, the Tractor Management System (TMS) is automatically switched off, and the tractor may default to a restricted operating mode (auxiliary operation).

   Check for related codes (e.g., 1.1.03 for Foot throttle potentiometer plausibility error, or 1.1.04 for TMS checksum error) that might indicate a physical hardware failure rather than software corruption.

   Inspect CAN-bus connections and wiring harnesses leading to the A002 ECU (located in the cab on the right mudguard/armrest area).

   Test the accelerator pedal position sensor electrical values. The requested values should range between 2 mA and 22 mA. If the signal drops below 2 mA or exceeds 22 mA, the sensor itself may be faulty.

   Connect diagnostic interface

   Connect the Fendt diagnostic interface (FENDIAS) to the tractor's diagnostic port.

   Perform EOL programming

   Perform EOL (End-of-Line) programming on the A002 - ECU, enhanced control. This will reload the correct data record and parameters for the accelerator pedal mode.

   Recalibrate pedal limits

   Recalibrate the accelerator pedal limits using the diagnostic software.

   Clear fault codes

   Clear the stored fault codes.

   Test drive tractor

   Test drive the tractor to ensure the Tractor Management System (TMS) can be engaged and that the accelerator pedal responds normally without triggering auxiliary operation.

   Replace or repair A002 ECU

   If the A002 ECU fails to accept the EOL programming or the checksum error immediately returns, the A002 E-Box module itself may have suffered an internal EEPROM failure and will require replacement or specialized bench repair.
