Fendt 4.1.E7 – A002 - ECU, enhanced control: Checksum error for joystick parameters
Issue description
The control module has detected a data mismatch or corruption in the stored parameters for the A034 Joystick (the main drive lever/accelerator). This typically results in the tractor restricting driving capabilities to emergency mode (e.g., driving is only possible using the foot throttle, and joystick functions are limited or disabled).

Check the cause
Verify CAN bus communication between the A002 ECU and the A034 Joystick
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors at the A034 Joystick and the A002 ECU for corrosion, bent pins, or breaks
Check the voltage supply for the CAN bus on the A013 fuse board (specifically fuses F040, F041, and F047)
Use the Variotronic terminal (Diagnostics Menu 1) to check the 'IDEAL' target value for the transmission ratio from the A034 joystick to verify physical input
Repair steps
Connect diagnostic software
Connect the tractor to the dealer diagnostic software (FENDIAS or Serdia).
Perform EOL programming
Perform EOL (End-Of-Line) programming (Bandendeprogrammierung) for the joystick parameters. This rewrites the correct operational parameters and calibration data to the A002 ECU.
Clear fault codes
Clear the fault codes from the memory.
Test joystick operation
Test the joystick in both forward and reverse ranges to ensure the checksum error does not return.
Replace hardware if necessary
If EOL programming fails to write, or the code immediately returns, the internal EPROM on the A002 ECU may be faulty, or the A034 Joystick has an internal hardware failure requiring replacement.
