Fendt 4.1.EB – Transmission Control Module: Speed range operation — No calibration or drifted values

The B016 sensor monitors the travel speed range detection (range control travel). This code triggers when the sensor's values drift outside of expected tolerances or when the range-change system loses its calibration. The tractor will default to auxiliary operation (emergency mode), switching between operating ranges will not be available, and the transmission will remain engaged in the actual current range. The Tractor Management System (TMS) may also be switched off.

   Check the B016 sensor voltage supply to verify an 8.5 Volt supply is present at the sensor connector

   Check the A013 fuse block (specifically Fuse 13, Fuse 08, or Fuse 06 depending on model) for a blown fuse causing a loss of the 8.5V supply

   Inspect the Transmission Control wiring harness for shorts, chafing, or signal failures between the B016 sensor and the ECU

   Attempt Calibration

   Access the tractor's onboard diagnostic/calibration menu.

   Enter Calibration Code

   Enter Calibration Code "4003" (TRANSMISSION) to initiate the speed range operation calibration.

   Complete Calibration

   Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the range-change calibration.

   Test Operation

   Restart the tractor and attempt to change speed ranges. If the code clears and ranges shift normally, the repair is complete.

   Replace Sensor (if calibration fails)

   If the calibration fails to complete, or if the sensor values have drifted beyond the acceptable threshold, replace the B016 sensor. After installing the new sensor, repeat Calibration Code "4003".
