4.1.EB

Fendt 4.1.EB – TRANSMISSION: B016 - Sensor, travel range detection

Issue description

The travel range-change values are out of tolerance, have drifted, or the range control has lost its calibration (checksum error). The Tractor Management System (TMS) may switch off, but continuation of driving in emergency/auxiliary mode is usually possible.

Check the cause

  1. Check the 8.5V sensor power supply at the A013 microfuse board (verify fuse 06, 08, or 13 depending on the model).

  2. Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the transmission control unit and the B016 sensor for corrosion, moisture, or breaks.

  3. Attempt to recalibrate the travel range selector to correct drifted values before assuming the sensor is physically broken.

Repair steps

  1. Resolve Power/Wiring Issues

If the 8.5V fuse is blown, replace it. If the wiring harness shows damage, repair the connection to the B016 sensor.

  2. Replace the Sensor

If the wiring and voltage are correct but the sensor signal is still failing or out of tolerance, physically replace the B016 travel range detection sensor located on the transmission.

  3. Perform Calibration Code 4003

Whether you replaced the sensor or are just correcting drifted values, you must run the transmission calibration for the travel range selector. Enter Calibration Code 4003 into the tractor's diagnostic terminal.

  4. Meet Calibration Conditions

Ensure the following while running code 4003: Tractor speed must be strictly below 0.1 km/h (stationary), engine speed must be between 600 rpm and 900 rpm, the transmission must be in neutral, and the clutch pedal must be fully depressed.
