4.1.EC

Fendt 4.1.EC – TRANSMISSION: Specified engine speed rotary position sensor ('accelerator pedal') combi-sensor (B029, B038, or B055)

Issue description

Accelerator rotary control values are not within tolerances, have drifted, or there is no calibration of the accelerator rotary control, causing the tractor to enter a restricted operating mode.

Check the cause

  1. Check the mechanical linkage between the accelerator pedal and the rotary position sensor for binding, damage, or excessive play.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness for discontinuities, short circuits, or voltage supply failures. Check the connectors at the pedal position sensors (B029, B038, B055) and at the EST (A002) and EDC (A021) control modules.

  3. Test electrical values for B029 (EST Sensor) at EST Control Module A002 (Pin 7, Connector X031): Idle Position should be 16 mA - 22 mA, Full Power Position should be 2 mA - 8 mA.

  4. Test electrical values for B038 (EDC Sensor) at EDC Control Module A021 (Pin B23, Connector X048): Idle Position should be 0.3 V - 0.6 V, Full Power Position should be 4.0 V - 4.5 V.

Repair steps

  1. Adjust Linkage

Attempt to adjust the mechanical linkage between the pedal and the sensor to bring the electrical values back within the specified tolerances.

  2. Replace Sensor

If adjustment is not feasible or the sensor is internally shorted/drifted beyond recovery, replace the accelerator pedal position combi-sensor.

  3. Recalibrate

After replacing or adjusting the sensor, perform TRANSMISSION calibration code '4005' via the tractor's terminal/diagnostic system to teach the ECU the new sensor end-stops.

  4. Clear Codes

Clear the stored fault codes from the memory using the terminal or FENDIAS diagnostic tool.
