5.1.34

Fendt 5.1.34 – 4WD ENHANCED CONTROL: B047 - Proximity sensor - steering angle sensor 1 — Signal / switch fault

Issue description

The system is receiving an invalid, missing, or out-of-range signal from the primary steering angle sensor located on the front axle, which disables the 4WD and differential lock automatic modes.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the B047 steering angle sensor and its wiring harness for physical damage, corrosion, or debris

  2. Check the sensor's connector for a short circuit to ground or an open circuit in the voltage supply and earth lines

  3. Use FENDIAS diagnostic software or an AGCO CANUSB scanner to monitor the live signal from Sensor 1 (B047) while turning the steering wheel lock-to-lock

  4. Attempt to run the steering angle sensor calibration procedure via the Varioterminal to see if the sensor simply lost its calibration parameters

Repair steps

  1. Park the tractor

Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, and engage the parking brake.

  2. Locate the sensor

Locate the B047 steering angle sensor on the front axle.

  3. Disconnect the harness

Carefully disconnect the electrical harness from the sensor, ensuring no dirt enters the connector.

  4. Remove the sensor

Unbolt and remove the faulty proximity/steering angle sensor from its mounting bracket.

  5. Install the new sensor

Install the new sensor and tighten the mounting hardware.

  6. Reconnect the harness

    Reconnect the electrical harness securely.

  7. Clear the fault code

Turn on the tractor ignition and use the diagnostic terminal to clear the stored 5.1.34 fault code.

  8. Perform calibration

Perform the steering angle sensor calibration procedure as outlined in the operator's manual. The system must learn the new sensor's center, left-lock, and right-lock values.

  9. Test drive

Test drive the tractor and verify that the 4WD and differential lock automatic modes engage and disengage correctly when steering.
