Fendt 5.1.35 – A004 - ECU, Control Panel: B094 Steering Angle Sensor Signal/Switch Fault

Signal/switch fault indicating a short circuit to earth in the steering angle sensor wiring, a missing signal, or a sensor that has drifted out of its calibrated range. This disables the 4WD and differential lock automatic system.

   Check the wiring harness running from the B094 steering angle sensor to the A004 ECU for a short circuit to ground or rubbed-through wires.

   Inspect the physical mounting of the sensor on the front axle to ensure the universal joint and linkage arms are intact, not bent, and not mechanically binding.

   Attempt to recalibrate the steering angle sensor via the terminal to see if the fault clears due to calibration drift.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery before servicing electrical components on the axle.

   Remove the Faulty Sensor

   Locate the B094 steering angle sensor on the front axle bridge. Disconnect the electrical connector and unbolt the sensor linkage from the tie rod bracket/axle housing.

   Install the New Sensor

   Mount the replacement sensor. Caution: The internal potentiometer typically only rotates a maximum of 180 degrees. Do not rotate it beyond its mechanical stops during installation, or it will be permanently damaged.

   Reconnect Linkage and Wiring

   Attach the threaded linkage using the ball joint and plug the electrical connector back in.

   Calibrate the Sensor

   Engage the hand brake and start the engine. Access the calibration menu on the Vario terminal, enter Calibration Code 2401, and follow the on-screen prompts (turn steering wheel to full lock in both directions) to teach the ECU the new sensor's parameters.

   Clear Fault Codes

   Access the fault code menu on the dash panel/terminal and manually delete code 5.1.35.
