Fendt 5.1.53 – Comfort Hydraulics / Enhanced Control ECU: Y010 - Differential lock solenoid valve (rear) Actuation fault

The control module has detected an electrical actuation fault (such as an open circuit, short circuit, or abnormal current draw) when attempting to energize the Y010 solenoid valve. As a safety measure, the differential lock disengages and the automatic differential lock system becomes unavailable.

   Locate the Y010 solenoid valve on the rear-axle housing.

   Inspect the electrical separation point (connector X321) at the Y010 valve for corrosion, moisture, or loose pins.

   Using a multimeter, measure the voltage at the connector. With the ignition ON and the engine running, it should read 0 VDC when the diff lock is OFF, and 12-14 VDC when the diff lock is engaged.

   Measure the resistance across the pins of the Y010 solenoid coil. An infinite reading indicates an internal open circuit (blown coil), while a reading of 0 indicates a dead short.

   Trace the wiring harness back to the Comfort Hydraulics ECU to check for chafing, pinched wires, or breaks.

   Prepare the tractor

   Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, engage the parking brake, and relieve all hydraulic pressure.

   Locate the solenoid valve

   Locate the Y010 differential lock solenoid valve on the rear-axle housing. (Note: On certain larger models like the 900 Vario, OEM manuals note that you may need to raise the cab at the rear to gain adequate clearance).

   Disconnect the electrical connector

   Disconnect the X321 electrical connector from the solenoid valve.

   Clean the valve area

   Thoroughly clean the area around the valve base to prevent dirt and debris from contaminating the hydraulic system when the valve is removed.

   Remove the faulty valve

   Unscrew and carefully extract the faulty solenoid valve from the control block/housing.

   Lubricate the new valve

   Lubricate the O-rings on the new solenoid valve with clean hydraulic oil.

   Install the new valve

   Thread the new valve into the housing and tighten it to the manufacturer's specified torque.

   Reconnect the electrical connector

   Reconnect the X321 electrical connector.

   Test the system

   Start the tractor, engage the differential lock to verify proper operation, and inspect the valve base for any hydraulic leaks.

    Clear the fault code

    Clear the stored 5.1.53 fault code from the tractor's terminal.
