5.1.55

Fendt 5.1.55 – DIFFERENTIAL LOCK ENHANCED CONTROL: Signal fault from component S005 - Right brake pedal solenoid switch

Issue description

The system detects that the switch is faulty or the signal is out of range. Because the tractor cannot verify the position of the right brake pedal, the automatic differential lock mode is no longer available, and the Tractor Management System (TMS) is switched off. The manual '100% differential lock' is the only differential lock function that remains available to the operator.

Check the cause

  1. Verify symptoms: confirm that the TMS has switched off and the automatic differential lock is disabled, but the 100% manual differential lock still functions

  2. Consult the '4WD / Diff. Lock' circuit diagram for wiring references

  3. Inspect the S005 solenoid switch on the right brake pedal for proper signal output

  4. Inspect the wiring harness connecting S005 to the Differential Lock Enhanced Control module for continuity, shorts, or breaks

Repair steps

  1. Locate switch

Power down the tractor and locate the S005 solenoid switch on the right brake pedal assembly.

  2. Disconnect harness

Disconnect the electrical harness from the switch.

  3. Remove switch

Remove the faulty switch from its mounting bracket.

  4. Install and adjust replacement switch

Install the replacement switch and adjust it so that the break contact registers correctly when the pedal is in its resting position.

  5. Reconnect harness and clear codes

Reconnect the wiring harness and clear the fault codes using the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to restore TMS and automatic differential lock functionality.
