Fendt 5.1.62 – Enhanced Control ECU (A002): Y014 - "Raise" suspension solenoid valve — 12V supply fault (or 12V actuation faulty)

Issue description

The control unit has detected an electrical fault (such as an open circuit, short circuit, or loss of 12V power) in the circuit controlling the Y014 solenoid valve, which is responsible for raising the front axle suspension. The front axle suspension system is disabled and remains locked in its last position. The tractor can still be driven, but active suspension functionality is unavailable until the fault is resolved.

Check the cause

  1. Check the Electrical Connector: Inspect connector X325 (the specific separation point/connector for the Y014 valve) for corrosion, moisture, pushed-out pins, or loose connections.

  2. Verify 12V Supply: Use a multimeter to verify that the Y014 connector is receiving a 12V signal from the Enhanced Control ECU when the suspension "Raise" command is activated.

  3. Test the Solenoid Coil: Measure the resistance of the Y014 solenoid coil to check for an internal open circuit or a short to ground.

  4. Inspect the Wiring Harness: Trace the wiring from connector X325 back to the A002 ECU to check for chafing, breaks, or melted insulation.

  5. Check Fuses: Verify the integrity of the fuses supplying the suspension control system (e.g., the A013 fuse, which supplies the related 8.5V sensor circuit, and the main 12V supply fuses for the hydraulic block).

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

    Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, and apply the parking brake. Ensure the area under the chassis is clear.

  2. Manually Relieve Hydraulic Pressure

    Locate the central control block for the suspension. Screw in the knurled-head screw on the Y013 (lower suspension) solenoid valve. Note: The chassis may lower during this step. Screw in the knurled-head screw on the Y014 (raise suspension) solenoid valve. This relieves the rebound accumulator. You may hear a flowing sound as the accumulator empties.

  3. Removal

    Disconnect the X325 electrical connector from the Y014 solenoid valve. Unbolt and remove the faulty Y014 solenoid coil/valve assembly from the hydraulic block.

  4. Installation

    Install the replacement solenoid valve and torque to OEM specifications.

  5. Restore System

    Reconnect the X325 electrical connector. Crucially, back out the knurled-head screws on both the Y013 and Y014 valves to their normal operating positions so the system can build pressure again.

  6. Testing

    Start the tractor, clear the fault codes via the terminal, and test the suspension raise/lower functions. Inspect the valve block for any hydraulic leaks.
