5.1.6E

Fendt 5.1.6E – A002 (Enhanced Control ECU) or A050 (Basic Control ECU): B003 - Front Axle Suspension Position Sensor (Angle Sensor) Incorrect calibration

Issue description

The system has detected that the front axle suspension position sensor (B003) is not calibrated or its calibration values are out of tolerance. As a safety consequence, the front axle suspension becomes non-operational, and the suspension will either remain in its last position or move to a "Lock" status. The tractor can still be driven, but without active front suspension.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the B003 sensor (located on the front axle) and its mechanical linkage for physical damage, bending, or excessive mud/debris buildup that could restrict its movement.

  2. Verify the wiring harness and connector to the B003 sensor. Ensure the sensor is receiving its required 8.5V supply (often routed through fuse A013; a supply failure here typically triggers a related 5.1.61 signal fault).

  3. Clear any active fault messages on the terminal. If multiple suspension faults are present, they must be confirmed and cleared one by one before calibration can begin.

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

Park the tractor on a flat, level surface.

  2. Apply handbrake and start engine

Apply the handbrake and start the engine.

  3. Set transmission and clutch

Ensure the transmission is in neutral, the range selector is in neutral, and the clutch pedal is not depressed.

  4. Clear active error messages

Confirm and clear any active error messages on the dashboard/terminal.

  5. Enter Calibration Code 7666

Access the tractor's diagnostic/calibration menu and enter Calibration Code 7666.

  6. Keep personnel clear

WARNING: Once the input code is confirmed, the tractor will automatically raise and lower the front axle suspension. Ensure all personnel are completely clear of the front axle and chassis.

  7. Complete calibration

Allow the system to cycle and complete the calibration.

  8. Check for calibration failure

If the calibration fails (e.g., it times out or throws a secondary fault code like F02 for faulty values), the B003 sensor is likely internally defective and must be replaced.

  9. Sensor Replacement

If replacement is necessary, safely support the front chassis, depressurize the suspension system if required by your specific model's manual, unbolt the old sensor and linkage, install the new sensor, and repeat the 7666 calibration procedure.
