5.1.FF

Fendt 5.1.FF – A002 - ECU, enhanced control: A002 - ECU, enhanced control — Internal fault (RAM / EEPROM)

Issue description

Memory checksum error or internal failure within the module's RAM/EEPROM. Triggered when the Comfort E-box no longer receives CAN data for engine speed and PTO speed. Various indicators will no longer be available, or the Comfort E-box will fail completely, though the tractor may still be driven in emergency mode.

Check the cause

  1. Check the wiring harness and CAN bus connections between the A002 ECU, the transmission bus, and the EDC (Electronic Diesel Control)

  2. Look for other bus fault codes (e.g., 0.0.11, 0.0.15, 0.0.16) which might indicate a physical wiring or voltage supply issue on the CAN bus rather than a failed ECU

  3. Check the CAN-Bus voltage supply on fuse board A013 (fuses F040, F041)

  4. Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to check the load counter and software status of the A002 ECU

Repair steps

  1. Inspect Wiring and Fuses

Verify that fuses F040 and F041 on the A013 fuse board are intact and that the A002 ECU is receiving proper voltage.

  2. EOL Reprogramming

Attempt an EOL (End of Line) reprogramming of the A002 ECU, as the fault is a RAM/EEPROM checksum error.

  3. Module Replacement

If the EOL programming fails, the internal memory is permanently corrupted, or the E-box is completely dead, remove and replace the A002 Comfort E-box.

  4. Post-Installation

After installing a new or remanufactured Comfort E-box, perform EOL programming and calibration via FENDIAS to configure the module to the specific tractor.
