Fendt 6.1.03 – ENHANCED CONTROL ECU (A002) or COMFORT REAR PTO: Signal fault - Left external "Rear PTO ON / OFF" pushbutton (S019)

Indicates a "Signal fault" associated with component S019 (Left external "Rear PTO ON / OFF" pushbutton). Triggered by an electrical fault in the circuit or when the button has been continuously pressed or shorted for more than 30 seconds. Standard PTO speed selection and engagement may be disabled, but emergency engagement is usually possible.

   Inspect the S019 left external PTO button on the rear mudguard for physical jamming, sticking, or dirt/debris packing

   Inspect the wiring harness and connector leading to the switch for chafed wires, broken connections, moisture, or corrosion

   Disconnect the switch and perform a continuity test with a multimeter; if continuity exists without pressing the button, the internal contacts are shorted

   Turn off ignition and disengage PTO

   Turn off the tractor ignition and ensure the PTO is fully disengaged.

   Locate faulty switch

   Locate the faulty S019 left external PTO switch on the rear mudguard.

   Disconnect wiring harness

   Reach behind the mudguard panel and disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector from the back of the switch.

   Remove faulty switch

   Depress the retaining clips or remove the mounting nut (depending on the exact switch housing) and push the faulty switch out of the mudguard.

   Clean mounting area

   Clean the mounting hole and the wiring connector to ensure a good seal and electrical contact.

   Install new switch

   Snap the new OEM replacement switch into the mudguard and reconnect the wiring harness.

   Clear fault code

   Turn the ignition on and clear the fault code from the tractor's terminal/Variotronic display.

   Test PTO engagement

   Test the rear PTO engagement using the newly installed external button to confirm the repair is successful.
