Fendt 6.1.04 – ECU: Y008 - Rear PTO clutch solenoid valve — Actuation fault

The control module has detected an electrical actuation issue (such as an open circuit, short circuit, or out-of-range resistance) when attempting to engage the rear PTO clutch solenoid, causing the rear PTO to disengage and not function.

   Inspect Connector X319 for the Y008 Rear PTO clutch solenoid valve for corrosion, pushed-out terminals, or moisture.

   Trace the wiring harness from connector X319 back to the ECU, looking for chafed wires, breaks, or pinch points that could cause a short to ground or an open circuit.

   Measure the internal resistance of the Y008 solenoid valve with a multimeter to check for an open circuit (infinite ohms) or a dead short.

   Verify that the solenoid receives a 12V supply signal from the ECU when the PTO is commanded on (note: you may need to clear the code first, as the ECU will cut power if a fault is actively detected).

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and engage the parking brake.

   Access the Valve Block

   Locate the rear PTO clutch solenoid valve (Y008) on the transmission/hydraulic control block.

   Repair Wiring

   If the diagnostic checks revealed a wiring fault between the ECU and connector X319, repair the broken wire or replace the damaged connector pigtail.

   Replace the Solenoid

   Clean the area around the Y008 solenoid to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system. Disconnect the X319 electrical connector, unscrew the retaining nut/bolt holding the solenoid coil to the valve stem (or remove the entire cartridge valve), install the new solenoid valve, tighten to the manufacturer's specified torque, and reconnect the X319 electrical connector.

   Clear Codes and Test

   Turn the ignition on, clear the 6.1.04 fault code via the terminal/FENDIAS diagnostic tool, and test the rear PTO engagement to ensure the fault does not return.
