Fendt 6.1.07 – A004 Control Console: A004 - Rear PTO speed selector key 2 — Signal fault

The tractor's control system is receiving an invalid, missing, or implausible electrical signal from the button used to select the secondary rear PTO speed (e.g., 750 or 1000 rpm). This is often associated with a CAN bus communication error. When this fault is active, the rear PTO speed cannot be modified or selected.

   Inspect the Rear PTO speed selector key 2 on the A004 control console for physical damage, sticking, or liquid/debris ingress.

   Check the voltage supply for the CAN Bus at the A013 fuse board, specifically fuses F040 and F041.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the A004 Control Console and the A002 ECU for corrosion, backed-out pins, or chafing.

   Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to monitor the live state of the A004 keys and check if the signal state changes when the PTO speed 2 key is pressed.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during repair.

   Check/Replace Fuses

   Locate the A013 fuse board. Inspect fuses F040 and F041. If blown, replace them with fuses of the correct amperage and retest the system.

   Clean Connections

   Access the A004 Control Console on the right mudguard. Disconnect the main harness connectors. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner and ensure they are seated securely.

   Console Replacement/Repair

   If the wiring and fuses are good but the fault remains active, the internal circuit board or the membrane keypad of the A004 Control Console has failed. Remove the panel and extract the A004 control module. Install a new or refurbished control console.

   EOL Programming

   If a new A002 or A004 module is installed, End of Line (EOL) reprogramming via the FENDIAS diagnostic tool will be necessary to pair the console with the tractor's bus system.

   Clear and Test

   Clear the 6.1.07 fault code from the system memory. Start the tractor and test the rear PTO speed selection to verify the repair. (Note: The manual states that in an emergency, the PTO can still be engaged by pressing the emergency key in the cab for 5 seconds while this fault is active).
