Fendt 6.1.09 – REAR PTO ENHANCED CONTROL (ECU A002): Y027 - Rear PTO speed 2 solenoid valve — Actuation fault

The control unit has detected an electrical or mechanical malfunction when attempting to actuate the solenoid valve responsible for engaging the second rear PTO speed, preventing the rear PTO from engaging normally.

   Visually inspect the wiring harness and connector X361 leading to the Y027 solenoid valve for chafing, breaks, corrosion, or water damage.

   Use a multimeter to verify the valve receives a 12V supply and has a good ground (e.g., Earth pin 22) when actuated.

   Measure the resistance of the solenoid coil to check for an internal short or open circuit.

   Check if the solenoid valve is physically seized or stuck in the 'OFF' position due to internal wear or hydraulic fluid contamination.

   Perform an emergency mode test by pressing and holding the emergency PTO button for 5 seconds to isolate electrical vs. mechanical failure.

   Preparation

   Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, engage the parking brake, and relieve any residual hydraulic pressure in the system.

   Locate the Valve

   Locate the Y027 Rear PTO speed 2 solenoid valve on the rear PTO hydraulic control block.

3. 3

   Clean the Area

   Thoroughly clean the exterior of the valve block around the solenoid to prevent dirt or debris from contaminating the hydraulic system during removal.

   Disconnect

   Carefully unplug the electrical wiring harness connector from the solenoid.

   Removal

   Remove the retaining fastener(s) securing the solenoid valve to the block. Pull the valve out straight. Have a rag ready, as a small amount of hydraulic fluid will escape.

   Installation

   Lubricate the O-rings on the new solenoid valve with clean Fendt-approved hydraulic fluid. Insert the new valve into the block and tighten the retaining fastener(s) to the manufacturer's torque specification.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical connector back in, ensuring the weather seal clicks into place to prevent future water ingress.

8. 8

   Clear Codes & Test

   Turn on the ignition, clear the 6.1.09 fault code from the tractor's terminal, start the engine, and test the rear PTO speed 2 engagement to confirm the repair.
