Fendt 6.1.1B – Enhanced Control ECU (A002 - ECU, enhanced control): Y027 - Solenoid valve, rear PTO, stage II

Actuation fault. The control module has detected an electrical anomaly (such as an open circuit, short circuit, or a seized valve) when attempting to actuate the solenoid. As a direct consequence, the rear PTO cannot be engaged normally.

   Perform Emergency Mode Test: Press and hold the 'PTO clutch ON/OFF' key for more than 5 seconds. If the PTO engages, the issue is likely isolated to the speed selection solenoid (Y027) or its wiring. If it does not engage, the valve itself may be mechanically seized.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the Y027 solenoid valve for damaged wires, corrosion, or loose pins causing an open circuit or short to ground.

   Measure the resistance of the Y027 solenoid coil with a multimeter to ensure it is within OEM specifications.

   Check for proper voltage at the connector when the PTO stage II is commanded ON.

   Inspect the solenoid valve mechanically to see if it is seized or blocked by hydraulic debris.

   Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, remove the key, and relieve any residual hydraulic pressure.

   Locate the rear PTO valve block.

   On many Vario models (like the 900 series), this is located at the rear of the tractor. You may need to detach a cover panel or the left rear wheel for adequate access to the rear valve block.

   Disconnect the electrical harness connector from the faulty Y027 solenoid valve.

   Thoroughly clean the area around the valve block to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system.

   Unbolt and carefully extract the Y027 solenoid valve.

   Have a catch pan ready to collect any hydraulic fluid spillage.

   Lubricate the O-rings on the new OEM solenoid valve with clean hydraulic oil.

   Use STOU SAE 5W-40 or Extra Hyd 68.

   Install the new solenoid valve into the block and tighten to OEM torque specifications.

   Reconnect the electrical harness.

   Top up the hydraulic fluid if necessary.

    Start the tractor, clear the fault codes via the terminal, and test the rear PTO operation in all speed stages to confirm the repair.
