Fendt 6.1.1C (Not 900) – ENHANCED CONTROL REAR PTO or COMFORT REAR PTO: Actuation fault with component Y028 (Rear PTO speed 1000 solenoid valve)

The solenoid valve responsible for engaging the 1000 RPM speed for the rear Power Take-Off (PTO) is either stuck in the 'OFF' position, has lost its power supply, or has suffered an electrical/mechanical failure. As a result, the rear PTO cannot be engaged at the 1000 RPM speed setting.

   Perform an Emergency Mode Test: Press and hold the 'Engage PTO' key in the cab for more than 5 seconds. If the solenoid valve is completely faulty, the speed will still fail to engage.

   Check the power supply to the Y028 solenoid valve. It must receive 12 VDC to actuate.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors for breaks, corrosion, or loose pins (refer to the PTO's circuit diagram, often Sheet 32).

   Verify if the speed selection solenoid valve (Y028) is physically stuck in the 'OFF' position due to debris or internal mechanical failure.

   Locate the Valve

   Identify the Y028 Rear PTO speed 1000 solenoid valve on the tractor's rear PTO hydraulic control block.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the electrical harness connector from the Y028 solenoid.

   Bench/Direct Test

   Apply an external 12 VDC power source directly to the solenoid to test its actuation. If it does not click or actuate smoothly, the valve is defective.

   Removal

   Clean the area around the valve to prevent hydraulic contamination. Remove the retaining bolts/hardware and extract the faulty solenoid valve.

   Installation

   Install the new OEM solenoid valve. If adjusting the control fork, set an overrun of 0.2 mm (+0.1 mm) and coat the adjustment screw thread with a synthetic bonding agent (like X903.050.084).

   Reconnection

   Reconnect the electrical harness securely.

   Clear and Test

   Clear the fault codes using the FENDIAS diagnostic tool or the tractor's terminal. Test the rear PTO engagement at 1000 RPM to verify the repair is successful.
