6.1.1C

Fendt 6.1.1C – Enhanced Control Unit (ECU) / E-box: Y028 - Solenoid valve, rear PTO, stage III Actuation fault

Issue description

The system detects that the solenoid valve responsible for engaging the 1000 RPM rear PTO speed is either stuck in the 'OFF' position, wrongly wired, or seized. As a result, the corresponding PTO speed cannot be engaged.

Check the cause

  1. Attempt to engage the PTO electrically by pressing the 'Engage PTO' key in the cab for more than 5 seconds to trigger emergency mode and see if the system bypasses the fault

  2. Consult the PTO circuit diagram (Sheet 32) and inspect the wiring harness to the Y028 solenoid valve for shorts, breaks, or incorrect wiring

  3. Check the power supply to the Hall-effect sensor B020 (rear PTO stub shaft sensor), as a signal fault here can correlate with engagement failures

  4. Apply 12 VDC from an external power source directly to the Y028 solenoid valve to test physical actuation. If it does not actuate, the valve is seized or internally failed

Repair steps

  1. Locate

Locate the Y028 solenoid valve on the rear PTO valve block.

  2. Remove

Disconnect the electrical harness and remove the faulty solenoid valve.

  3. Install

    Install the new solenoid valve.

  4. Test

Energize the newly installed Y028 solenoid valve with 12 VDC from an external source.

  5. Adjust

Set the control fork to an overrun of 0.2 mm (+0.1 mm tolerance).

  6. Verify

Verify that the PTO setting (1000 RPM) successfully engages.

  7. Secure

Coat the adjustment screw thread with a synthetic bonding agent (OEM part X903.050.084) to secure it.

  8. Reconnect

Reconnect the tractor's wiring harness and clear the fault codes via the terminal.
