Fendt 6.1.41 – A004 - ECU, control panel: Rear PTO ON / OFF key registered as pressed for more than 30 seconds

The Rear PTO ON / OFF key (located in the cab) has been registered as pressed for more than 30 seconds. The system detects a continuous signal from the switch, pointing to a mechanical fault (stuck button) or an electrical fault (short circuit). As a result, speed selection automatically moves to neutral, no preselection is possible, and the PTO disengages.

   Visual & Mechanical Inspection: Check the yellow Rear PTO ON/OFF button in the cab. Ensure it is not physically jammed, stuck in the depressed position, or obstructed by dirt and debris.

   Electrical Switch Test: Disconnect the switch and test it for continuity. If it shows continuity without being pressed, the switch has failed internally.

   Wiring Inspection: If the switch tests fine, inspect the wiring harness between the cab switch and the A004 Control Panel ECU for a short to voltage or a short to ground that is mimicking a pressed button.

   Turn off ignition and disconnect battery

   Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical surges.

   Remove trim panel

   Carefully pry or unscrew the trim panel on the control console/armrest where the yellow Rear PTO switch is mounted.

   Access switch wiring

   Pull the switch assembly forward to access the wiring.

   Disconnect electrical plug

   Disconnect the electrical plug (typically a 3-pin AMP Superseal 3 x 1.5 plug connection).

   Remove faulty switch

   Remove the faulty switch from the panel housing.

   Install new switch

   Insert the new dustproof/splashproof yellow PTO switch into the panel until it clicks or locks into place.

   Reconnect electrical connector

   Reconnect the AMP Superseal electrical connector.

   Reinstall trim panel

   Reinstall the trim panel.

9. 9

   Test PTO operation

   Reconnect the battery, turn on the ignition, and test the PTO engagement to ensure the fault code is cleared and the PTO operates normally.
