Fendt 6.1.45 – COMFORT REAR PTO / ENHANCED CONTROL: Signal or mechanical fault related to the Hall-effect speed sensor at the rear PTO clutch

The system logs this code when the clutch is not separating (B021 sensor registers speed in neutral), the clutch is slipping (clutch speed deviates by >20% from engine speed), or there is a speed deviation (actual PTO stub shaft speed differs by >+/- 12% from setpoint speed).

   Emergency Mode Test: Verify if the PTO can still be engaged electrically. The system allows for an emergency override by pressing and holding the 'Engage PTO' key in the cab for more than 5 seconds.

   Sensor Signal Check: Inspect the B021 (PTO clutch speed) and B020 (PTO stub shaft speed) Hall-effect sensors for signal faults, physical damage, or debris.

   Wiring & Connections: Check the wiring harness for the B021 sensor, specifically at separation point X170, for corrosion or broken wires.

   Solenoid Valve Inspection: Check the PTO solenoid valves (Y026, Y027, Y028). The fault can be triggered if these valves are wrongly wired or mechanically seized.

   Mechanical Check: Inspect the speed selector for mechanical faults that could prevent the clutch from engaging or disengaging properly.

   Access the Rear PTO Area

   Depending on the specific model and tire size, you may need to detach the right rear wheel to gain adequate clearance.

   Remove Cover Panels

   Detach the cover panel at the rear of the tractor, located over the PTO stub shaft.

   Locate the Sensors

   Identify the B021 sensor (rear PTO speed - clutch). It is located in the same vicinity as the B020 sensor (rear PTO speed - stub shaft).

   Disconnect Wiring

   Disconnect the sensor at separation point X170.

   Replace the Sensor

   Unbolt the faulty B021 Hall-effect sensor and install the new OEM replacement.

   Reassembly

   Reconnect the wiring harness at X170, reinstall the rear cover panel, and remount the right rear wheel (if removed).

7. 7

   Clear Codes & Test

   Clear the stored fault codes from the terminal and test the PTO engagement in neutral and under load to ensure the speed deviation is resolved.
