Fendt 6.1.57 – A004 Control Console: 750 rpm speed selector key has been pressed for more than 30 seconds

The 750 rpm speed selector key has been pressed for more than 30 seconds, caused by a mechanical or electrical fault in the button itself (e.g., physically stuck down or electrically shorted). As long as the '750' rpm mode is selected, PTO engagement can still occur. The '1000' and '540' rpm modes can also be selected, but the operator must press the 'Engage PTO' key for longer than 5 seconds. However, the '750' rpm mode cannot be actively selected while this fault is present.

   Visual & Mechanical Inspection: Inspect the 750 rpm speed selector button on the A004 control console. Check if the button is physically jammed, sticking due to dirt/debris, or mechanically broken.

   Electrical Circuit Check: Refer to the 'PTO's' circuit diagram (specifically for the single e-box version). Test the switch circuit with a multimeter to see if there is a continuous short to ground or power that is falsely signaling a 30+ second button press.

   Component Isolation: Disconnect the switch to see if the continuous signal stops. If the fault clears, the switch is the culprit. If the fault remains, the issue may lie in the wiring harness or the A004 control console board itself.

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the tractor's battery to ensure safety and prevent electrical arcing while working on the control console.

   Access the Console

   Remove the necessary trim panels in the cab to access the A004 control console and the rear of the PTO switch panel.

   Clean or Remove the Switch

   If the button is merely stuck due to agricultural debris, clean the housing. If the switch is internally shorted or mechanically broken, disconnect its wiring plug (typically an AMP Superseal connector).

   Install the Replacement

   Mount the new PTO speed selector switch into the existing mounting points on the console and reconnect the wiring harness.

   Test the System

   Reconnect the battery. Turn on the tractor and verify that you can freely select between 540, 750, and 1000 rpm modes without the 6.1.57 fault code returning.
