Fendt 6.1.AA – A004 Control Console: "Active" key (only NA version) — Communication fault
Issue description
This code indicates a CAN-bus communication failure specifically related to the "Active" key signal on the control console. Because the system cannot communicate with this key, the tractor disables the rear PTO for safety, rendering the PTO non-operational.

Check the cause
Check the voltage supply on printed circuit board/fuse board A013, specifically inspecting fuses F040 and F041 for a blown condition.
Use the FENDIAS diagnostic tool or the tractor's terminal to check for fault code 0.0.13, which indicates a total bus failure for the A004 Control Console.
Inspect the CAN-bus wiring harness and connectors between the A004 control console (right mudguard) and the single e-box for corrosion, pin damage, or chafing.
Test the 'Active' key to ensure it is not mechanically stuck or physically damaged.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery before servicing electrical components.
Fuse Replacement
If fuses F040 or F041 on board A013 are blown, replace them and retest the system. If they blow again immediately, there is a short in the A004 wiring harness.
Harness Repair
If wiring damage is found between the e-box and the A004 console, repair the broken CAN lines using twisted-pair CAN-bus repair standards.
Console Removal
If the power supply and wiring are intact, the A004 control console has an internal ECU/circuit board failure. Remove the right mudguard panel in the cab to access and unbolt the A004 control console.
Repair or Replace
The A004 unit must be replaced with a new OEM unit or sent to a specialized agricultural electronics repair service (such as Micronetwork, which specifically services Fendt A004 consoles).
Reprogramming
Depending on the tractor's exact configuration and whether a new e-box or console is installed, an EOL (End of Line) reprogramming may be necessary to restore full PTO functionality.
