Check the cause

  1. Verify the voltage supply for the CAN-Bus by checking the A013 fuse board, specifically inspecting fuses F040 and F041. A blown fuse will drop communication to the A004 console.

  2. Inspect the CAN bus wiring harness between the A004 Control Console and the A002 Enhanced Control ECU. Look for line discontinuities, chafed wires, or loose connector pins.

  3. Check for concurrent fault codes like 1.1.9E or 1.1.9F (indicating a hard CAN communication failure between A002 and A004) or 3.1.01 through 3.1.06 (indicating internal RAM/EEPROM hardware failures in the console).

Repair steps

  1. Connect diagnostic tool

Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic interface (or a compatible dealer-level tool like TEXA) to the tractor's diagnostic port.

  2. Perform EOL programming

Perform End-Of-Line (EOL) reprogramming to re-flash or re-initialize the A004 control panel so it can re-establish proper CAN communication with the tractor's network.

  3. Clear codes and test

After the EOL programming is complete, clear the fault memory and test the Rear PTO engagement to ensure functionality has returned.

  4. Repair or replace A004 console

If EOL programming fails or the console is completely unresponsive due to internal circuit board failure, remove the A004 control console. Send it to an agricultural electronics specialist for board-level repair or replace it with a new/refurbished unit. Note: A replacement unit will still require EOL programming.
