Fendt 7.1.07 – Enhanced Control ECU (Component A002): Signal fault with component S042 (Front PTO speed sensor 2 solenoid switch)

The control unit is receiving an implausible, out-of-range, or missing electrical signal from the sensor responsible for monitoring the rotational speed of the front Power Take-Off (PTO). When this signal is lost, the system cannot verify if the PTO is spinning correctly, which typically causes the front PTO to automatically shut off after about 10 seconds as a safety measure, accompanied by a blinking control lamp.

   Inspect the electrical circuit and wiring harness leading to the S042 sensor at the front PTO housing for chafing, breaks, or melted insulation.

   Disconnect the plug connections between the sensor/magnetic valve and the main wire harness. Check for corrosion, moisture, or pushed-back pins.

   Verify the voltage supply at the sensor/magnetic valve connector with the ignition on; it should read at least 9 Volts.
