Fendt 7.1.4A – A004 Control Console: A004 - "Active" key (only NA version) — Plausibility error, key has been pressed for more than 30 seconds.

The system has detected that the "Active" button on the armrest control console has been continuously depressed for over 30 seconds. This plausibility error indicates a physically stuck button, a collapsed microswitch, or an internal short circuit, which disables the Front PTO functions.

   Inspect the 'Active' key on the A004 armrest control console for physical sticking, dirt, debris, or lack of tactile click.

   Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic tool and monitor the live state of the 'Active' key to see if it shows as 'pressed' without physical actuation.

   Check the wiring harness and connectors leading to the A004 control console for any signs of damage or moisture.

   Look for associated CAN bus communication faults (e.g., between A004 and A002 Enhanced Control ECU) which might indicate a broader failure.

   Clean the Keypad

   Attempt to clean around the 'Active' key using electrical contact cleaner and compressed air to dislodge any debris causing the button to stick. If the button frees up, clear the code and retest.

   Disconnect Power

   If the button has internally failed, turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery before disassembling the armrest.

   Remove the A004 Console

   Remove the retaining screws and trim panels on the right-hand armrest to access the A004 control console.

   Disconnect Harnesses

   Carefully unplug the CAN bus and power connectors from the bottom of the A004 unit.

   Replace or Repair

   Remove the faulty A004 control console. It is common practice to send the A004 unit to a specialized agricultural electronics repair center to have the internal microswitches replaced.

   Reinstallation

   Install the new or repaired A004 control console and reconnect all wiring harnesses.

   Calibration

   According to Fendt service documentation, a complete calibration must generally be carried out after the replacement of the control console (A004). Use FENDIAS to perform the necessary calibrations.

   Clear Codes & Test

   Reconnect the battery, clear the stored 7.1.4A fault code, and test the Front PTO engagement to verify the repair.
