Fendt 8.3.11 – A014 - ECU, EPC OBE: Failure in rear power lift 'Raise' function circuit

The system detects that the magnet current is too high, the solenoid is defective, or there is an internal E-box fault. As a safety consequence, the control is immediately terminated and locked (barred), meaning the rear power lift cannot be operated.

   Check the Y021 Solenoid Valve (Rear EPC 'Raise' function) for internal faults, such as a defective solenoid or excessive magnet current draw.

   Inspect the signal line wiring harness between the A014 ECU and the Y021 solenoid valve for short circuits to ground, short circuits to battery voltage (+UB), or breaks.

   Check the A014 ECU (E-box) for internal faults (final stage defective) if the wiring and valve are intact.

   Use the FENDIAS diagnostic software or the tractor's Variotronic TI terminal (A008) to read out the specific fault status under the 'REAR EPC SPOOL VALVES – OPERATING STATUS' menu.

   Secure the Machine

   Turn off the tractor and ensure the rear power lift is safely lowered or mechanically supported, as the hydraulic system is under pressure and the electronic control is locked.

   Locate the Components

   Locate the Y021 solenoid valve (Rear power lift 'raise'). The electrical separation point/connector for this valve is designated as X332.

   Inspect Wiring & Connector X332

   Disconnect X332 and inspect the pins for damage, corrosion, or loose connections.

   Test the Solenoid

   Measure the resistance of the Y021 solenoid valve with a multimeter to determine if it is shorted or open. Replace the solenoid valve if it fails the resistance test.

   Test Continuity

   Check the continuity of the signal line from the X332 connector back to the A014 ECU. Repair any breaks or shorts in the wiring harness.

   Replace the ECU (if necessary)

   If the wiring and the solenoid valve are both functioning correctly, the fault lies within the A014 ECU (E-box fault / final stage defective). The A014 ECU must be replaced or sent to a specialist for board repair.

   Clear Codes & Test

   After replacing the faulty component or repairing the wiring, clear the fault codes using the tractor's terminal or FENDIAS software. Test the rear power lift operation to ensure the 'Raise' function works correctly and the fault does not return.
